Shiny and New
iMac sets new standards for elegance and power. It packs a complete, high-performance computer into its all-in-one design. With its anodized aluminum frame and glass cover, it’s striking to behold. The glossy widescreen display — available in 20- and 24-inch sizes — makes photos and movies come alive with rich color. The use of recyclable glass and aluminum makes iMac friendlier to the environment, too
With iMac, details make all the difference. For example, because it’s made from a single sheet of aluminum, you won’t see any seams or screws except for a single compartment on the bottom that provides easy access to the memory slots. The built-in iSight camera and microphone are integrated so neatly you barely notice they’re there.

iSight
Built into the sleek iMac is an iSight camera so neatly integrated, you’ll hardly notice it’s there. That is, until you launch iChat AV, Photo Booth, or iMovie. Then it’s time to smile. No need to worry about installing or configuring.
It’s easy to video chat with your friends and family over the Internet. Simply open iChat AV, find a buddy with a .Mac or AIM account, and start speaking. A high-performance microphone is built in on top of the iSight camera (the perfect location, because you just look at the camera to get the optimal sound). You can chat with one person or up to three others at a time. You can even have a one-way video chat if your friends don’t have their own webcams.
More Memory
The more memory your computer has, the more programs you can run simultaneously and the better performance you get from your computer. Each iMac model comes with at least with 1GB of RAM in the form of a single SO-DIMM module in one of the two easily accessible memory slots, which means it’s a breeze to add more memory as your needs change. The iMac can now accommodate up to 4GB of RAM — perfect for people who do a lot of photo and video editing.
Large Hard Drive
Each iMac comes with a standard 3.5″ Serial ATA hard drive that runs at 7200 revolutions per minute. Your drive will come formatted in the Mac OS Extended file format for efficient storage of your data.
ATI Radeon HD
Whether you use your iMac for business or pleasure, you’ll appreciate the power of the new ATI Radeon HD graphics processors. They feature some of the most advanced graphics technology available and deliver new levels of visual realism and a huge texture fill rate for smooth surfaces and complex character details. The 2.0GHz 20-inch iMac includes the ATI Radeon HD 2400 XT with 128MB of GDDR3 dedicated video memory, while the 2.4GHz 20-inch model and the 24-inch model offers extreme graphics power with an ATI Radeon HD 2600 PRO with 256MB of GDDR3 dedicated video memory.
Wireless
iMac uses a next-generation high-speed wireless technology called 802.11n. So it works perfectly with the new AirPort Extreme Base Station to turn your entire house into a wireless wonderland. You can also connect to an AirPort Express Base Station and wirelessly print, surf the web, and play your iTunes library through your home stereo.
Connections
Most digital cameras, digital music players — such as the iPod — keyboards, mice, and external hard drives use the USB 2.0 standard to connect to a computer. The iMac can accommodate as many as five peripherals at a time thanks to its three USB 2.0 ports and the two USB 2.0 ports on the Apple Keyboard. And when you connect an iPod to one of the USB ports on the iMac, the iPod charges not only while your iMac is on but also while it’s in sleep mode.
For even more expansion possibilities, all iMac models include two powered FireWire ports: one FireWire 400 and one FireWire 800, which is one of the fastest peripheral standards available. With these ports, you can quickly transfer content from digital video cameras, hard drives, and other high-speed devices.
iMac has other connections, too. You can connect speakers or headphones to the digital/analog audio out port, a microphone or musical instrument to the audio in port, and a display or TV to the video out port. You can also use built-in Bluetooth to communicate wirelessly with PDAs, keyboards, mice, and other devices.
