With the revolutionary thin and light slate form factor, the Stylistic ST5100 Tablet PC provides the freedom to be more productive. The system is weight-balanced so it can be carried comfortably in either portrait or landscape mode. You can now compute on the go with ease, for longer periods of time.
The slate also has a flexible form factor. Use it alone like a notepad with minimal weight and bulk, or add a keyboard for a more familiar notebook feel. Optional portfolio or attaché cases make keyboard use even easier by providing a convenient easel stand. With the optional tablet dock, the system can be transformed into a complete desktop solution. The dock supports both portrait and landscape modes, tilts for better viewability and pen use, and allows immediate undocking, letting you grab and go without rebooting.

To create this security rich environment, Trusted Platform Module (TPM), a dedicated Smart Card reader slot, an integrated biometric fingerprint swipe sensor*, the Fujitsu Security Application Panel, BIOS-enabled Computrace/LoJack theft recovery system (service required) and a Security lock slot come standard with every ST5100 Tablet PC.

Display
Indoor/Outdoor (Transmissive) Display—New display technologies allow for this screen to be viewed either indoors in your office or home work environments as well as casual outdoor usage. The bright 12.1″ XGA display offers greater than 160° viewing angles.
Indoor/Outdoor (Reflective Front-Lit) Display—This 10.4″ XGA TFT display is designed to enhance the viewability of applications that are performed in a wide variety of lighting environments including bright sunlight. This display is optimized for daytime outdoor use so if your primary tasks are conducted indoors we recommend you consider our indoor transmissive display.

One-touch Application Launch Buttons
There are six intuitive and easy-to-use buttons that enable you to launch or navigate within applications. With one-touch launch buttons you can easily launch your email or instantly rotate your screen orientation. Each of these buttons also has secondary functions and two of the secondary functions are user-programmable. There are also four navigation buttons that provide up to eight navigation functions for increased efficiency.

Active Digitizer
In combination with a special pen, the electromagnetic (active) digitizer allows for more accurate pen-driven input. The digitizer allows both hovering and variable pressure effects for smooth inking, increasing the overall user experience.

The magnesium alloy lower case provides significant protection over plastic casings found on other Tablet PCs. In addition, the hard drive is shock-mounted to protect your data. Fujitsu Shock Sensor Utility
In the event your hard disk drive experiences an excessive vibration or shock, there is a possibility that the read-write head will come in contact with of the rotating platter, resulting in a “head crash.” If this happens, data loss may occur. The Fujitsu Shock Sensor utility is a sophisticated hard disk drive protection system designed to minimize the likelihood of such an event.

Inside select Fujitsu notebooks and Tablet PCs there is an accelerometer that constantly senses for any sudden movement, including free falls, excessive vibration, or sudden impacts. Fujitsu Shock Sensor monitors movement from three axes: front-to-back, side-to-side, and up-and-down. The sensitivity can be adjusted by the user to accommodate different working environments.

If a sudden movement is detected, the read-write head is quickly retracted to a safe zone, reducing the possibility of a head crash and the potential loss of data. This technology reduces the risk of your hard drive being damaged and your data being lost forever.

Integrated Modem & LAN
With both modem and LAN built-in, you have flexibility in how you connect to your office network or the Internet. The LAN port has a fast 10/100/1000 Mbps transfer speeds to provide high-speed connection to your office network, or broadband Internet connections such as cable modem, DSL line or digital satellite signal.

The 56K V.90 modem lets you connect while you are on the road or at home by using a regular telephone line if a LAN port is not available.
For even more LAN flexibility, the available wireless LAN supports the popular Wi-Fi certified (802.11 standard) network Access Points at a transfer rate of up to 54 Mbps. Choose from either the Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection (Tri-mode 802.11a/b/g) or the Atheros Super AG Wireless LAN 802.11a/b/g (with transfer rates of up to 108 Mbps with compatible access points). The Wireless LAN feature is standard on select models, and is also available as a custom configuration option.
