Children at Thong Nhat Park on June 1

anhtuanplaza.com – The International Children’s Day this year felt on Sunday so Hoang and his wife (in Cau Giay District, Hanoi) decided to go out with their 4-year-old child. The couple discussed for a while and they chose the Thong Nhat Park.

The Park was very crowded on the Sunday morning. Hundreds of children from everywhere and their parents came to the Park on their day, June 1. For Hanoians, this is the best public site for children because it has many trees and very spacious.

However, on that day the Park seemed to be very cramped and it was not enough for visitors. Entertainment services for children operated at full capacity but they failed to meet demands.

Waiting for her daughter’s turn to get in the Ferris Wheel, Mrs. Minh from Thanh Xuan District, Hanoi, said: “I don’t have free time to go out with my children so the International Children’s Day is a chance for us to entertain. Thong Nhat Park is perhaps the best site for children but it is too crowded and we have to wait for a long time to our turn for all entertainment services while the weather is so hot. It’s terrible!”

Thought they had tried at their best, Mr. Le Hoang Thanh and his grandson from Dong Da District couldn’t have access to any entertainment service, so they decided to…. Walk around the lake in Thong Nhat Park.

“I planned to take my grandson here as a gift for him but it is so crowded here. We couldn’t squeeze into any game house so we have to walk,” Thanh said.

It is true that in Hanoi, there is no better place for children than parks but when all of parks were full, many parents brought their children to supermarkets for going shopping. As a result, big supermarkets like Vincom, Trang Tien Plaza, etc. were also crowded on the International Children’s Day. Other places like the Central Circus or the Friendship Cultural Palace were also overcrowded.

The space for children is being narrowed in Hanoi. Most of urban children’s timetable is closely linked with book and studies. They mainly entertain themselves by computer games and in-house games. Consequently, the percentage of short-sighted children is soaring.
