The central coastal city of Nha Trang is expecting to welcome tourists in their thousands during the Miss Universe pageant in early July.

The city predicts there will be 22,000 visitors a day arriving for the pageant from July 7-15, representing a 20 percent increase from last year’s figures.

Eighty percent of three- and five-star hotels have already been booked, and 40 percent of the 350 other hotels in the coastal city have also been taken.

Two three-star hotels Novotel and Diamond Bay Resort with about 200 rooms are working to open their doors before the pageant begins to meet the demands of tourists.
